PFAS: Results of Fish Tissue Studies in New Jersey & New York

New Jersey and New York recently conducted fish tissue studies in order to understand the prevelance of poly- and perfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in the environment and the risk it might pose to the public. Join us to learn more and ask your questions!

Jesse Becker, NYS DEC will present PFAS in New York State Fish, 2010 – 2018 that shows the results of several fish tissue studies performed in New York, and for the more recent efforts, the relation to locations with PFAS releases.

Sandra Goodrow, NJ DEP will present the results of a statewide targeted fish tissue study that included the evaluation of the PFAS concentration of sediment and surface water at the fish collection sites. These results were used to evaluate the extent of known site contamination and ultimately led to the issuance of fish consumption advisories in the State of New Jersey.

The webinar is free for government officials in the NEWMOA-member states (CT, ME, MA, NH, NJ, NY, RI, VT) and U.S. EPA only - all others must pay a registration fee ($50 for the private sector and a reduced fee of $25 for non-profits, other federal agencies, and government officials in states that are not members of NEWMOA)
